Mark joined Schiavello in February 2010 as Corporate Sustainability Principal, championing Ecologically Sustainable Development across the Schiavello Group. From his extensive background as an Architect and Company Director, Mark now provides Schiavello with his extensive industry experience and particular expertise in ‘green buildings” and Greenstar projects.
As an Adjunct Professor at the Queensland University of Technology, he regularly contributes to design education and speaks at national conferences. A foundation Greenstar Faculty member, Mark contributes to the Green Building Council of Australia’s education activities. Within Schiavello he leads sustainability strategy, conducts staff education, updates staff and management on key “Green Industry developments” whilst marketing and contributing to Schiavello’s continuous improvement strategies.
As President of the Australian Green Development Forum, he advances the implementation of Sustainable Development in the broader community. These activities assist in Schiavello maintaining best practice waste management, energy efficiency, water conservation, material recycling and social responsibility standards.
