Schiavello’s purpose-built MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard) powder coating facility applies specialised UV powder finishes on various heat-sensitive substrates, such as MDF wood, plastics and metal. It is a cost-effective, highly durable finish that is more environmentally friendly than traditional treatments such as laminates or veneers.
It is a single step process that covers the product with an even, seamless, resilient coating, allowing full or partial replacement of liquid paints, PVC vinyl and laminates. This allows for the fabrication of more complex furniture shapes with multiple curves and profiles.
Producing the most advanced MDF powder coated products in Australia, Schiavello’s facility is the only dual system, same line powder plant for MDF and other heat sensitive substrates (such as plastics) in the Southern Hemisphere.
Working closely with DuPont, Triab and OEM Nu Tech, global leaders in the field, Schiavello continues to develop this technology and deliver new benchmarks in productivity, consistency and quality.
