Schiavello is proud of our ongoing commitment to creating equal opportunities for Indigenous Australians. Headed by Olympic hurdler, Kyle Vander-Kuyp, Schiavello’s Indigenous Participation Plan was introduced last year. Since then, the program has taken a multi-faceted approach to creating employment opportunities for young Indigenous Australians, donations to local Indigenous communities and building lasting relationships.

The partnership with Worawa Aboriginal College, Healesville, has culminated in one of Schiavello’s largest donations of furniture. While on a visit to the college, senior Schiavello staff saw an opportunity to support the community and give a second life to used furniture otherwise destined for landfill.

Building on 50 years of commercial success, the Schiavello Group is reaffirming its reputation within the Australian property landscape, with the appointment of Christopher Schiavello as Director of its NSW Construction operation.

Christopher has a strong commercial background and an in-depth understanding of Schiavello and its markets, having spent the last 10 years working in the Victorian construction industry. As a key leader of strategy development within the business, he is well placed to drive Schiavello’s construction service into a new era.

Christopher’s new role will not only be to lead NSW operations and diversification from fit-out to construction but to strengthen Schiavello’s national service model. “This appointment allows Schiavello to offer national clients a far more customer-centric service, with a single point of accountability across multiple locations,” says Peter Schiavello, Managing Director.

Schiavello Singapore Sales Manager, Skye Nicholls, was crowed champion at the 2015 White Collar Boxing event held in Singapore over the weekend.

Held at Suntec Singapore Convention and Exhibition Centre, the black tie event run by Vanda Boxing Club saw competitors from traditional ‘white collar’ professions battle it out in the ring to raise money for the Children’s Surgical Centre in Cambodia.

With a fitting Australian entrance to ACDC’s Thunderstruck, Skye put her intensive 12 weeks of training into action and after a gruelling three rounds was unanimously named the winner of her battle.

“It was the most exhausting six minutes of exercise I’ve ever done, but having the loudest cheer squad certainly spurred me on. Knowing that in excess of $50,000 was raised on the night certainly made it all worth it,” says Skye.

The black tie event will see guests enjoy a four course meal at the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre, while competitors from traditional ‘white collar’ professions battle it out in the ring to raise money for the Children’s Surgical Centre in Cambodia.

With little to no boxing experience, Skye will undergo an intensive 12 week training program to perfect her hooks and jabs for the amateur competition.
