Last week, Schiavello took part in the Middle East’s leading design fair, Downtown Design Dubai. With over 120 people visiting our stall, the event was a great success.

Schiavello is proud to have partnered with the Australian Institute of Architects (AIA) to host its latest international Boarding Pass event at our Dubai showroom last week.

Over 50 Australian architects and designers gathered at the Showroom for the night, which is an opportunity for members to get together in key locations around the globe.

Thank you to the AIA for putting on the event and for letting us be a part of it.

A series of Design Institute of Australia (DIA) events were held at Schiavello Showrooms across the country throughout October and November.

The DIALogue Forecast, an Australia-wide event that looks ahead to the next big design trends, was held at both the Adelaide and Perth Showrooms. In Melbourne, the Dynamic Experience Design: Events and Ephemeral night was held at Schiavello’s Retail Showroom. The panel featured Amanda Henderson and Daniel Dalla Riva, who discussed designing expressive and emotive installations and temporary exhibitions.

With many events experiencing sell-out numbers, they were a huge success. Schiavello wishes to thank the DIA for putting on such meaningful and thoughtful design events.

Last week, from 14–16 June, Schiavello took part in DENFAIR. This year we held two stands, one exhibiting the Gallery Chair, and the other, the Agile Table and Toku collection.

Just released, the Gallery Chair is designed by Chris Connell. It was commissioned by the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) and features vibrant colours and geometric angles inspired by the Leonard French stained glass ceiling in the gallery’s Great Hall.

The Agile Table is another new product, released this year. This dynamic product, designed in collaboration with Amanda Stanaway and Schiavello’s People and Culture Principal Keti Malkoski, re-defines the ways people interact and activate workspaces. Also displayed was Gavin Harris’ Toku collection, Chris Connell’s Rib High Stools, and Kase storage, designed by New Zealander Sam Haughton.

Sarah Zerella, Schiavello’s consultant – people and culture consulting, represented us on-stage at the ‘Responsibility: Designing and Communicating Ethically’ panel discussion, in which she discussed what guides our moral compass when working in the design community.

In addition, Schiavello was proud to support Front / Centre – DENFAIR’s competition to find Australia’s best and most innovative young designers. See the list of the deserving winners here.
