He utilises everyday items teamed with natural, living elements, reusing discovered objects and combining them with the colour of fresh flowers and foliage for a dramatic effect. Through his work and collaboration with like-minded people, Joost seeks to inspire others to think differently about a sustainable future.

His past work includes the design and installation of the highly publicised ‘Joost’s Greenhouse’, a temporary café and bar structure erected at Federation Square, Melbourne, made from light gauge steel, straw and plywood. The structure included a roof garden designed to grow organic vegetables to be served to diners using the cafe.
