In Italian, ‘Presto’ means ‘quick’ or ‘prompt’, and just like its eponym, the Presto chair is responsive to its requirements – flexible, quickly and easily catering to a number of spatial needs. Use it as guest seating in reception spaces; a meeting chair in workplace settings; or compile a collection together for audience seating in a presentation.
Presto’s seat and back are fully upholstered in a range of fabrics, leathers and vinyl from the Schiavello ColourLab palette, making the design customisable to any interior. Providing a chair that is easier for the user to get out of, Presto features a 460mm seat height, 440mm seat depth and high hugging sides.
Standing the test of time, Presto’s beautiful and robust design supports working, public and hospitality spaces.
Designed in 2004 by the Schiavello Design Studio, Presto is a comfortable tub chair catered to waiting areas, breakout spaces, meeting rooms and function spaces. These sectors require robust furniture that can withstand high traffic, while being easily movable and used on a daily basis. Due to this, Presto was designed with a high-tensile rounded steel tube frame, which provides the chair with utmost strength and longevity.
“We identified a need in the market for a sturdy, refined and versatile visitors chair,” says Peter Schiavello. “At the time of Presto’s creation, Schiavello had developed a selection of visitors chairs to meet the growing requirement for individual casual seating. In the commercial field, there was a level of formality perceived around providing individual seats rather than having people share a sofa, and so Schiavello’s series of visitors chairs catered to this. Presto, however, was designed to add an embracing, beautiful and formal design to the current range,” says Peter.
