Linear Table

With its elegant clean lines, design simplicity and high adaptability, the Linear collection offers numerous table options, including desks, meeting tables, occasional tables and storage elements.

From coffee tables suitable for team breakout areas and intimate meetings to long, large tables suitable for boardrooms, Linear has the option to scale up or down in any large or petite space. This allows for a uniform aesthetic throughout an interior when Linear is used in multiple settings.

Linear Low Round Table and Palomino Chair

The simplicity of Linear’s form and the elimination of solid elements below the work surface creates the feeling of openness and minimalism.

Linear Square Table

Designing for durability was a key achievement in Linear, with the elimination of potential weak points occurring early in the design development. The base structure is extremely stable and strong, making Linear suitable for the high traffic needs of hospitality and workplace interiors.

“There was really nothing like it at the time,” says Sue Carr, when speaking about Linear. Designed in 2008, the table collection was the result of a brief for a minimalistic, well-designed, cost-efficient, environmentally friendly collection of tables.

This brief came from a client of Carr Design Group, and following a long friendship and business relationship with Tony Schiavello, Sue sought out Schiavello as the first port of call to manufacture her design.

The result was what the brief called for and more – the Linear collection is highly adaptable, with an enormous range of configuration options, tops available in either MDF or glass, and a frame and base in aluminium and nylon. With a strong base and a clean, open profile, Linear brings an air of sophistication to living and working environments.

Sue Carr is the founder of Carr Design Group, a multidisciplinary firm of architects and interior designers. Established in 1971, the firm has been long recognised for its contemporary aesthetic and sharp focus on detail. With a host of award-winning projects and a proven capacity to push conventional boundaries, Carr is one of the most respected design firms in Australia.

Prior to studying interior design, Sue studied science. “Despite my career in interior design, science has definitely impacted everything I do,” she explains. “Design really comes back to the detail whether you’re designing a high-rise building or a table. And that design methodology draws on the scientific background that I have.”
Carr applies the highest design standards to create a strong visual with simple clean lines and a sense of order – all to challenge and excite the sensory and emotional experience.
