After more than two decades of service to Schiavello Construction, Director and QLD State Manager, Dave Allenby has announced his retirement.

Dave has dedicated 25 of his 42 years in the construction industry to Schiavello across multiple jurisdictions.

Dave is succeeded by Steven Kourevelis, who joined Schiavello in January 2017 as Queensland Construction Manager and is delighted to accept the new role.

M-City’s Turning of the Soil Ceremony was held on Friday 3rd November 2017 at 10:30 am.

The Honorable Daniel Andrews marked the event with the M-City development team including Tony and Peter Schiavello of Schiavello Group, and Nick and Rachele Saraceno, Domenic Sciglitano and Annette Sciglitano from Saraceno Group.

On 2 August, a group of Melbourne’s most influential property professionals will share their industry knowledge to host the next Melbourne Retail Forum at CBRE, discussing the key factors driving the future success of retail, as well as local and global trends impacting the retail property market.

The forum will see five panellists meet to discuss the current state of the Melbourne retail property market, mediated by CBRE’s director of Melbourne city sales and middle markets Josh Rutman and Schiavello’s property and business development manager, Carmelo Rositano.

After one last round of drinks on April 24, the Curtin House Rooftop Cinema & Bar at 252 Swanston St, Melbourne will be transformed significantly by a complete and long-awaited renovation.


Schiavello is excited to announce the newly completed 10,000sqm office for the Department of Environment, Water and Natural Resources (DEWNR) has been awarded the Green Building Council of Australia’s maximum 6 Star Green Star – Interiors v1 certified rating. Managed under our Design & Construct model, the project’s milestone is a first in its category for South Australia and the first in Australia to receive the rating within the first round of assessment.


Schiavello is pleased to announce our South Australian construction team has commenced works on the new Veterans Mental Health Precinct (VMHP) at Glenside.

Named in honour of local hero Jamie Larcombe – killed while on operations in Afghanistan – the $15 million state of the art facility will provide advanced care for our Veterans as part of the State Government’s Transforming Health plan.

The Jamie Larcombe Centre will provide inpatient and outpatient services, specialist services for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, as well as teaching and research spaces.

It will also include 24 individual rooms with ensuites, a gymnasium, a public garden, as well as private areas for reflection, where Veterans can spend time with their families. Construction is expected to be complete by late 2017.

As we start the new year, we are delighted to announce a new appointment! Our South Australian construction team would like to welcome Augusta Soteriou on board.

Augusta joins our team as the Design and Engineering Manager, with 20 years’ experience having previously worked for DPTI and Tonkin Consulting, she is highly respected throughout the SA construction industry.

Her inclusion to the team will further strengthen Schiavello’s expertise in delivering complex construction projects.

Building on 50 years of commercial success, the Schiavello Group is reaffirming its reputation within the Australian property landscape, with the appointment of Christopher Schiavello as Director of its NSW Construction operation.

Christopher has a strong commercial background and an in-depth understanding of Schiavello and its markets, having spent the last 10 years working in the Victorian construction industry. As a key leader of strategy development within the business, he is well placed to drive Schiavello’s construction service into a new era.

Christopher’s new role will not only be to lead NSW operations and diversification from fit-out to construction but to strengthen Schiavello’s national service model. “This appointment allows Schiavello to offer national clients a far more customer-centric service, with a single point of accountability across multiple locations,” says Peter Schiavello, Managing Director.


An innovative office design created by a Queensland University of Technology (QUT) Design School student is about to become a reality in Queen Street’s Central Plaza building with two industry leaders investing $350,000 to showcase the work.

Third year student Anna Carter won a design competition run by Central Plaza owner ISPT and Schiavello in Queensland. Now she is working in the real world to bring her design to life at ISPT’s premium office tower. Once complete, ISPT will invite existing and future customers to trial the 500m² space. It will also look to partner with industry groups to host events and functions to showcase the space.
