Building on the recent success of the employment of our very first Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander apprentice, our Indigenous Engagement Manager, Kyle Vander Kuyp, has recruited our second apprentice, Jediaha Cam.
Jediaha met with Kyle in July through Schiavello’s supportive partnership with MatchWorks, where he toured our Tullamarine manufacturing facility with an eager attitude and keen interest right all the way through.
After making a fantastic first impression with the Prima Wood Machining & Production Assembly team, Jediaha was given the opportunity to join as an apprentice – which he accepted with a lot of emotion.
“Dad has always wanted me to get into an Apprenticeship – he’s so happy for me. It feels so good to be off Centrelink. I feel as though I’m finally doing something for myself and contributing.”
