Focused on inspiring a culture of design in Western Australia, the event aims to educate visitors through interactive workshops with world-renowned designers and fun exhibits from leading brands including Schiavello.

“In a unique way the Design Circus seamlessly unites everything on offer – be it exhibits, products, and workshops – they all come together in harmony, which you don’t often see at traditional trade shows,” says Schiavello Sales Consultant, Jodie Priestly. For the second year Mobilia will host the event bringing on board much loved curator Pepe Garcia (Valencia, Spain). Also joining from Barcelona will be special guests, ceramicist and designer Xavier Mañosa from Apparatu, and Co-founder and editor of Santa and Cole, Nina Masó.

But the big international draw-card is acclaimed designer duo of Schiavello’s OTM table, Doshi Levien. Both Nipa Doshi and Jonathan Levien will candidly discuss their design story and experiences at Doshi Levien: A Conversation. The exhibition will showcase the OTM table as the circus’s grand master
and the newly launched Goodwood table by Schiavello and Doshi Levien.

Visitors can also see inspiring designs from local artists, designers and the 2015 Milan Furniture Fair.

“The intention of the Design Circus is to bring together like mind design oriented companies together with our local design community to grow the culture and understanding of design in Western Australia. We have coupled with various local charities, businesses, local artists and design organisations to add interesting layers to the concept which will make for a great 3 day event.

We are also very happy to have Schiavello on board and for Mobilia’s Design Circus to be the premiere showing place of their newest collaboration with Doshi Levien”, says Managing Director, Salvatore Fazzari.

Entry to the Design Circus exhibition is free and takes place on Tuesday, 1st December – Thursday 3rd December at the State Theatre, Perth. Doshi Levien: A Conversation happens on Tuesday 1st December at the State Theatre, 7pm. Tickets are limited and all proceeds will go towards Youth Focus via The Ride For Youth program.
