We learn by doing at Schiavello
Schiavello is keeping it real with state-of-the-art simulation training at the BLSC.
Two members of each construction team have successfully completed a scenario based incident investigation training designed specifically for construction personnel.
During training, our team found themselves in the middle of a potential real-life incident where timber had fallen out of a ten-storey construction site. As they would in the real world, the team gathered evidence from actors playing Project Managers, site workers, and Union members to form an accurate investigation. Throughout the simulation, cameras recorded everything allowing the team to review and evaluate their performance.
The exercise allowed the team to put their theoretical training into practice by communicating effectively and working together following an incident.
We believe there's always room for improvement and are focused on providing ongoing training for our staff and keeping them at the top of their game. Our staff will complete additional intensive simulation training in the future; the closer the simulation is to a real incident, the better prepared they will be.
