DreamCity South Wharf, Australia's first fully immersive 'edutainment' experience is only months away from its big unveiling.
Led by Construction Director Daron Johnson, our VIC construction team is putting the final touches on the stage one delivery of the flagship South Wharf site.
The joint effort between Schiavello Construction, Airstream Architects, the DreamCity management team, and Vicinity DFO South Wharf has been paramount to the success of the project so far.
Engaged under a Design & Construct (D&C) contract, our VIC construction team has worked closely with the architect on all project design components and has had a major role in managing stakeholder engagement, design direction, and programme. The team has also taken a proactive approach to providing buildability advice through every stage on this one-of-a-kind project.
DreamCity South Wharf will feature nine specialised career 'pods' including a science lab, STEAM workshop, fire station, a 'building on fire', operating theatre, aviation academy, and TV studio. Each pod has been carefully designed in collaboration with children's education experts to encourage the development of life skills to challenge and inspire the next generation.
The entire 'city' will have high levels of technology integration including virtual and augmented reality headsets, television screens throughout, smoke machines, and digital projectors for a truly immersive experience.
DreamCity South Wharf will be opening soon, giving Victorian children a unique opportunity to 'learn by doing'.
