Norwood Oval Redevelopment

Construction to begin at Norwood Oval

Our construction team in SA is excited to begin works on the major redevelopment of Norwood Oval – home of the Norwood Football Club.

The redevelopment will include the construction of a new two-storey building and function centre – to be named the Wolf Blass Community Centre; the renovation and refurbishment of existing grandstands; and major upgrades and modifications to the services infrastructure.

Also included in the scope for the newly built corporate facilities is the construction of a glazed thoroughfare to the adjacent heritage-listed grandstand, a new kitchen, bar facilities, and a fully glazed facade overlooking the oval area.

The heritage-listed Sir Edwin Smith grandstand – built in the late 1800s – will also receive a facelift which will include structural modifications and alterations to accommodate player, staff, and umpire amenities.

“We are very excited the builder [Schiavello] has been announced, and we will watch on as the building develops,” says Robert Bria, Mayor of Norwood, Payneham and St Peters.

The Norwood Oval redevelopment commenced in mid-May 2019 and is expected to be completed in time for the 2020 football season.
