A turnkey development

The Woolshed at Central Pier was a turnkey development where the client provided the brief in relation to their concept and required delivery of the design and construction – a process that required significant statutory body approvals including Heritage approval and liquor licensing.

The project concept was for a multi-use function venue maintaining the link with the history of the building and the Docklands precinct in general. The materials used on the project were sourced from local suppliers including a significant component of salvaged materials to maintain the design intent and the heritage of the original construction.

The art of managing tight time frames

The tenancy was provided as a shell, requiring full services installation and necessary upgrades of the incoming infrastructure, much of which involved significant lead times that needed to be accommodated within an already tight time frame. With the works being on a pier there were existing limitations of the structure and limited infrastructure; this was overcome by running early works packages in parallel with the design process.
