Delivering a five-star hotel in seven months
Stamford Plaza has received significant internal and external upgrades. Works included creating a structural slab infill, facade works, and interior fitout across 13 floors - all completed in a seven-month construction programme.
Key challenges of the job included working within a fully operational hotel and accessing the construction site via a single goods lift. This lift was also shared with hotel staff.
To mitigate these challenges, our VIC construction team worked closely with the hotel assistant general manager to report daily upgrades, who would then inform guests and staff where necessary.
Hoarding solutions reduce impact to daily operations
Interior hoardings were elected to reduce the noise impact of construction works to ensure guest satisfaction. Similarly, an exterior hoarding created a safe working environment during the facade upgrades.
Our team coordinated closely with hotel staff to carry out deliveries via the single goods lift outside of peak hours - so as not to impact the hotel's daily operations.
