InterBuild Launch Event

Celebrating a new chapter for diversity and inclusion

From builders, developers, designers and contractors, the InterBuild launch saw over 170 people in attendance from across 80 organisations. Sponsored by Schiavello Construction, the evening is the first of many initiatives bringing together LGBTI+ and allies to drive positive change within the property and construction industry.

The evening proved to be an overwhelming success, with tickets sales being donated towards ‘Wear it Purple’.

Leading by example

From attracting the best talent to workplace culture, inclusion impacts the lives of LGBTI+ as much as it does business performance.

As co-chair of InterBuild, Christopher Schiavello Director and State Manager NSW shared his excitement on the evening;

With our industry being the largest contributor to the Australian economy, it is important that we lead by example in creating a future where people can be themselves - free of discrimination, so they can excel and bring their best work.

Schiavello has always seen diversity and inclusion as paramount to its success. With a workforce of over 1,100 in Australia, we are proud of our rich history in celebrating people based on their merits, embracing diversity and the positive contribution it brings to our company culture.

The key driver

A network for LGBTI+ individuals, allies and employers throughout the property and construction industry, InterBuild:

Quite simply, their goal is to be seen as an industry that leads LGBTI+ inclusion, ensuring they get the best of people today, and attracting the best talent of tomorrow.
