A growing organisation
The Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) has relocated its Sydney headquarters to better accommodate the growing organisation.
Shortlisted for a 2015 Interior Design Excellence Award, the Custance design represents ‘the concept of transparency in the built form’ and contrasts light and dark through sloped walls, various lighting, and raw versus layered textures.

Meticulous planning and coordination
Engaged directly by NSW Public Works, Schiavello Construction NSW carried out the two-floor office fitout as well as basement works. A highly detailed fitout, meticulous planning and coordination were required between Schiavello, Public Works and contractors to successfully meet the 10-week program.
A high-security space, the project saw the installation of surveillance and audiovisual technologies in the newly created hearing rooms and communication rooms, which feature euro timber wall panelling. Polished plaster was applied to feature sloped walls, while laser cut timber was employed to define a relaxed waiting area.
Shining the light on corruption
Dramatic cylindrical pendants feature in a large break out area which is filled with various built-in areas to relax or work. The fitout also includes open plan office areas, meeting spaces and a secure records room and garage in the basement.
