A new premium office space

The new space, which spans the entire third floor of a premium office building on Melbourne’s St. Kilda Road, has allowed Transfield to consolidate a number of offices into one central, city fringe location.

Schiavello Construction was engaged by project manager APP as head contractor to completely refurbish the space, designed by PTID Environments.  The project included the interior construction of 3,378 square metres of office space, break out areas, communal kitchen, board room, and meeting rooms equipped with integrated video-conferencing capabilities. Each of these areas is comprised of highly detailed joinery and finishes, with extensive integrated services.

Furnishing and signage produced by Schiavello

Supporting the new open-plan office space, Schiavello provided 246 linear Centric workstations, along with pedestals, breakout area tables, and Humanscale M2 monitor arms. Informal meeting spaces are defined by the booth-like Kayt Quiet lounges, and the surrounding feature walls combine joinery elements with Vertical Garden, an organic indoor plant feature, designed by Joost Bakker for Schiavello.

Schiavello Signage developed a standout branding element in the reception area – a unique, 3D Transfield logo that’s melded into the wall cladding to give the illusion that it’s emerging from the wall. The lighting elements highlight varying levels and add depth through the shadows created, making the piece a truly dynamic focal point of the reception foyer.

A selection of graphics is printed on perforated metal screens with timber frames, further expressing the brand essence throughout the space. Curved, recycled timber joinery walls flow from the reception into the executive hot-desk area.
